IATI Virtual Community Exchange 3
Attending this event?

Welcome to the agenda for the second IATI ‘Virtual Community Exchange’ (VCE 2), one of two online events taking place in 2021 to bring together the global IATI community. Join VCE 2 on 12 and 13 October 2021 to help us consider IATI’s progress vis-à-vis the current state of transparency and open data in the era of the Sustainable Development Goals and COVID-19. During VCE 2, you will hear about recent and upcoming IATI activities and how you can participate, be inspired during sessions led by other members of the IATI community and engage with peers in the open data and transparency space. Anyone with an interest in open data, transparency or development cooperation is welcome to join!

The VCE will offer three parallel sessions simultaneously, and participants are welcome to attend a session from each time slot, or to ’pick and choose’ sessions over the course of two days. Find out how to get prepared with this one-pager, ‘Getting Ready for the VCE’, or view the comprehensive logistical note for the event - and don’t forget to register by 11 October!

Questions? Drop us a line at info@iatistandard.org or post in our digital community platform, IATI Connect. We look forward to seeing you virtually on 12 and 13 October!

Towards smarter investments for data and statistics – presenting the Clearinghouse for Financing Development Data (Community Session organised by the Bern Network and Open Data Watch)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls on countries to leave no-one behind on the path to a more prosperous, equal, sustainable future. To do this, all countries need to be able to produce and use timely, accurate, quality, and representative data. Yet, while progress has been made, data gaps persist among many low- and middle-income countries. They urgently need more resources and technical assistance to bolster their national statistical systems.

The Clearinghouse for Financing Development Data is a new online platform that will help countries, aid providers, and development partners identify funding opportunities, bring projects to scale, advocate for support to data and statistics, and connect to the right partners to put data at the heart of sustainable development. It was launched at the United Nations World Data Forum on 4 October 2021.

Join us for this interactive virtual session to learn more about how the Clearinghouse can help bring about transformative change for data financing. You will hear from country speakers about the latest challenges and developments relating to financing data, and then see a demonstration of how you can apply the clearinghouse’s analyses and functions to further your own work. The session will include an interactive discussion and brainstorm with the IATI Community on how we can leverage partnerships and share stories about what data can do for effective decision-making on aid, ending with an overview of where we will go next with this project and how you can get involved on the journey.
